This quest line starts by finding a Sealed Tome of the Lost Legion.
Said Tome can be found on the rares in Thunder Isle, but the chance at dropping is roughly 1-2%. If you want to avoid the farm, you can buy it on the AH-maybe.
---My boyfriend was kind enough to farm it for the blog purpose, he spent maybe 3 hours killing with a level 92 lock. When I farmed it, I got it by chance on maybe the 12th rare I killed. I'd seen it drop multiple times on other characters too-just been unable to loot it. So even though its set at a low rate, I think it has a decent chance to drop.---
Once you have the tome (by whatever means you prefer to get it..!) You apply a Hearthstone directly to the book with your forehead (not really, I just want to see if anyone tries...) and low and behold, its now the CODEX OF XERRATH! Yay?
Well at this point you can start the quest line!
An Unusual Tome
The tome appears to be written in an ornate, sprawling script that seems to rise off the pages. It vaguely resembles Demonic, but the symbols are far more elaborate than any you've ever seen.
Perhaps one of your demonic companions can tell you more.
To this you simply summon your demonic pets and speak with them. Observers are the most helpful.. But the others are entertaining to hear too!
Reader for the Dead Tongue
Assuming you did the other quest, you'll just head to your Orgrimmar or Stormwind to where ever the warlock trainer may be found!
A Tale of Six Masters
This book may be just the leverage we've been seeking...
How familiar are you with the Council of the Black Harvest, <name>?
After Deathwing was defeated, six of the greatest Warlocks gathered together to teach all Warlocks advanced forms of magic stolen from our defeated foes.
Take a look at the tome beside me...
Read the sparkly/glowy book near by. You'll need it.
Seeking the Soulstones
<name>, take this - the journal of Jubeka Shadowbreaker.
Read the journal and use the information contained within to track down where she went.
Find her soulstones and use them to locate her.
Gather the stones and watch Memories as followed.
Hellfire: In the Felspark Ravine. Its purple, stands out well. :P
No Memory to play.
Up to Netherstorm: Ruins of Farahlon
Jubeka: Such strange creatures. Why do they remain so long after the legion has left?
Kanrethad: ...there's a slight flaw in that supposition.
Jubeka: Oh?
Kanrethad: The Observers were in the service of Illidan... not the Legion.
Jubeka: Well, he's gone too... so why are they still around?
Kanrethad: How should I know?
Jubeka: Well, I've spent weeks trying to understand how to summon one of these things. If you know something I don't, I'd appreciate it if you'd share it with us "lesser" mortals.
Kanrethad: What's the problem? You handled the binding of the Fel Imps and Voidlords effortlessly.
Jubeka: They were trivial by comparison! These things are never in the same place. There's something... strange about them... something out of place... Oh dear...
Over to Blade's Edge Mt: This was one I found hard to find in my search for it, Vigor'th's Circle which is near the border to Netherstorm. If you use Coords: 77, 31. Its a large black circle with orange runes, near the bridge that connects Netherstorm and Blade's Edge. Its really on the EDGE.
Kanrethad: I tire of your evasive babble, doomguard. Explain to me why you and your kind are drawn to sacrificial magics.
Doomguard: My contract is to fight for you, not to reveal the Legion's secrets, mortal.
Kanrethad: Do not attempt to decieve me, demon! Your kind far predates Sargeras's betrayal. What WERE you?
Jubeka: This knowledge is useless... what are you trying to achieve, Kanrethad?
Kanrethad: STAY OUT OF THIS! The demon will answer, NOW!
Doomguard: What an odd demand. Not even my own kind care about our origins. Why should you?
Kanrethad: If you do not care then there is no harm telling me.
Doomguard: ... before Sargeras freed us, we were the Titan's hounds. Forever enslaved to police the use of arcane. Sacrificial magic was considered the greatest violation of life and we were attuned to instantly punish those who delved into such... delicious sorcery. You have your petty secret, Kanrethad. Now, I demand knowledge from you... why do you care?
Kanrethad: I don't believe that is part of our contact. We are done here. Jubeka, complete the ritual.
Lastly, flap ALL THE WAY to Shadowmoon Valley (Please keep in mind this is pre Warlords, so Shadowmoon should be fel green, not forest and critters. :P ) :
Jubeka: What is it you wished to show me…?
Kanrethad: …Ive seen the fear in your eyes, Jubeka.
Jubeka: What…? No! I.. I have… no idea…
Kanrethad: Gul'dan destroyed the world in his bid for power… you're concerned I will do the same to Azeroth.
Kanrethad: …
Jubeka: No! Stay back! You…you're dangerous. I remain content summoning demons, but you…
Jubeka: …you toy with becoming one yourself!
Kanrethad: There are two sides to the blade of Demonology…
Kanrethad: …the threats that besiege us from the outside…
Kanrethad: …and those that threaten us from within.
Kanrethad: I chose you as my companion for a reason.
Jubeka: And what depraved reason is that…?
Kanrethad: …If I fail, I need you to banish me forever.
If you followed above, you've seen the memories in order and are where you need to be for next part!
Seek the Signal
The soulstone shards fuse together easily in your hands.
Strangely, no soul is stored within the stone. Instead, the stone seems to be drawing power from somewhere in Shadowmoon Valley. Looking east, you feel the power linked beyond the mountains, to the very gates of the Black Temple.
As you can guess, head to the Temple. But not the RAID entrance. The ACTUAL entrance. You'll see a rune on the door. Its the massive gates in the center!
Infiltrating the Black Temple
It's clear that Jubeka's soulstone has lead you here to the Black Temple.
The question remains... why?
The only remaining option is to head inside and figure out why they were here.
At this point your in a solo scenario which I have cut into TWO parts that will come in next two days! The run to the boss and then the fight itself (as was in old days... Now ya just nuke it..).
Happy hunting yall, see you tomorrow!
